Full engine rebuilds

With fully trained and experienced staff, we can undertake many engineering jobs for BSA, Triumph and Norton models and other makes and models. 

Before we start the rebuild, we thoroughly inspect all parts of the engine for wear and damage. We then compile an estimate, including a list of all the work and repairs required, along with all new parts the engine needs. We will also include a list of recommended services and components and send it to you. That way, you see a clear list of everything, and we are here to assist with queries and changes.

Needle roller conversion

Achieve very high mileage without needing to re-address the bottom end, oil pressure uprated by at least 40%, and no more crankshaft shimming and timing bush problems.

The wear in the main bearing timing side bush will reduce oil pressure to the crankshaft and big ends.

The needle roller conversion eliminates crankshaft shimming and timing bush problems in your bike. In addition, as a result of the conversion, your motorbike’s oil pressure will be uprated by at least 40%, and you will achieve very high mileage without having to re-address the bottom end.

Cylinders

Services to repair and recondition your cylinders.

We bore all cylinders to within 0.002” (thou), then hone them to an exact size, within 0.0002” tolerance, to produce a flawless finish for the piston rings.

We also shot-blast the barrels and paint them with high-quality stove enamel paint before machining.

Crankshaft and bottom end

Regrind, cleaning and polishing services for crankshafts. We also provide repairs and dynamic crankshaft balancing as part of our rebuilds.

We regrind all crankshafts to the correct specification radii. Next, we clean the sludge trap to remove foreign particles and grind the crankshaft journals. Then, we clean the crank again before reassembling the sludge trap. Finally, we highly polish the main journals to the correct surface finish. We also carry out repairs to work splines and worn shafts.

Repairs and Cosmetics

Repairs can be performed with TIG welding / machining as required and we use a wide range of techniques to replicate the engines’ original factory finish.
